Running collegiate cross country and track in college was a significant part of my life, but it was my coach who truly pointed me to the Lord. Through those experiences I learned that my identity and worth are found in the Lord, not in running.
After moving to Hawaii and working for a surf camp, I witnessed many youth on the North Shore adopting false identities, idolizing surfers, and the surfing lifestyle. This culture of worshipping other surfers often has left these kids feeling lost and unsure of their true identity. They are searching for meaning and validation in the wrong places.
God has blessed me with the opportunity to be a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and to help establish it on the North Shore. Through FCA I aim to share the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ and help them find their true identity in Him through surfing and other sports.
