About Avery
I am a former collegiate cross country and track athlete whose faith was strengthened through the mentorship of my coach and the challenges of competition. Through those experiences, I learned that my identity and worth are not found in athletic performance but in my relationship with Christ.
After moving to Hawaii and working at a surf camp, I witnessed many young people on the North Shore struggling with identity, often idolizing surfers and the lifestyle that surrounds the sport. This pursuit of validation in the wrong places often leaves them feeling lost and unsure of their true purpose. Now, God has given me the opportunity to partner with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) to establish a presence on the North Shore, using sports as a platform to share the gospel and help young athletes discover their true identity in Christ.
