Moving 8 times before I turned 18, school sports gave me a place to belong when I otherwise would have been an outsider. Coaches welcomed, challenged, and encouraged, and teammates became friends. My heart was softened to the Good News due to those that pointed me to Jesus in word and action. Sports offered hope and community, providing a glimpse of God’s church.
Now, I get the privilege of partnering with God to grow the kingdom through the ministry of FCA. I am honored to encourage Hawaii’s coaches, athletes, and families, to shine the light of Jesus for all to see.
Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
