James Shiroma is lead pastor of GracePoint Church in Mililani. In May 2021, the two churches James previously planted and pastored merged to become GracePoint Church. James’ greatest passions are preaching, teaching, raising up leaders, encouraging others to be faithful to whatever God has called them to pursue, and reaching the next generations.
James also finds great joy in encouraging churches, pouring into pastors, and serving in overseas missions through GracePoint Church. In addition to his local church, James served on committees in Hawaii and nationally with the Southern Baptist Convention, on the Board of Directors for Hawaii Academy, and with other Christian organizations. Currently, James serves as chairman of the Mililani Mauka Elementary School Community Council, as a member of the Roads to Hope Board of Directors, and he also leads the Mililani Pastors’ Prayer Fellowship
A graduate of Hawaii Baptist Academy, James played football and ran track in high school (Pac-5). He received his Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Hawaii and Master’s of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
James loves University of Hawaii sports. He and his wife Julie have one daughter.
